In between meals it is common that we become hungry and need something to munch on in between our next meal and while this is perfectly okay, there is no reason to grab something that gives us no nutrients or food supply in the end. A lot of the time when we think of snacking we go to a bag of potato chips or possibly even a cookie or two. While this may be common and sometimes easy, there are also convenient ways to snack healthy. Grabbing something that can equally fill us and taste good is the best of both worlds.
To stay healthy while snacking it could be a good idea to prep your snacks. This means to have them at hand and ready to go when you are hungry so grabbing something nutritious could be just as easy to grab as a bag of chips could be. There are some easy snacks to help you with this.
Dried Fruits and Nuts
While these could easily be made into your own homemade trail mix, they are also an amazing way to get your nutrients and even your sweet tooth satisfied while being healthy. Dried fruits and nuts can bring an amazing combination of healthy fats, protein, and fiber. You could pair raisins with walnuts, dried cherries with almonds, and dried mango with macadamia nuts and have an amazing salad of nutrients in the palm of your hand.
Guacamole and Chips
Chips can be considered unhealthy especially if you are just eating fried potato chips, but pairing a premade guacamole with plantain chips can bring a whole new look to chips and dip. They can bring you the delicious taste of both. Eating healthy is just about proportion and substitutes, it doesn’t mean you can’t eat your favorite foods, just to rethink them.
Yogurt and Fruits
Yogurt and fruits may take a minute or two to prepare, but it has an amazing outcome. Pairing a Greek yogurt with any type of berries or fruit that you want can bring an amazing healthy factor to your diet. They supply you with a good amount of fiber, vitamin C, and the sweetness that you may be craving.
Your Own Charcuterie Board
No one said a charcuterie board was only for big lavish parties. Just rolling up lunch meats, getting some cheese, and crackers could be a perfect way to make your own. You can even add nuts and fruits to it as well. It is a great way to not have to choose a certain snack and get a little bit of everything you may want in there. By getting fiber, protein, healthy fats, and proper vitamin intake can really benefit a woman’s health.
Eating healthy doesn’t have to mean that you stop eating all the foods you have loved. It may just mean considering substitutes, like plantain chips instead of potato chips, or dried fruit instead of chocolate chips. Eating healthy substitutions and proportions can also allow your body to have more energy and to be more alert throughout the day compared to if you are filling it with foods that may make it drowsy. Experiment and see what types of snacks are best for you.
