While we may feel safe if we have our phones on us, there are more ways to ensure our safety if we are going for an outdoor run, or even going to go to buy groceries. There are simple accessories we can add to our purses, keychains, belt hooks, or even around our wrists. As technology changes, having a more compact safety tool has become much easier.

There have been a lot of changes in our day-to-day lives and what we have to bring with us when we go out to do even the simplest of errands, however, the addition of a personal alarm, striking pen, or small pepper spray can ease our fears. Like any self-defense tool, it is important to take time with it and learn its mechanisms and how to use it correctly.

Personal Alarm

There are a lot of these out there. A lot of different versions, sizes, colors, and ways to turn it on. However, all of them are usually smaller than the palm of your hand and can be activated by pulling a pin by the keychain it is held on by.

With the design being so small and minimalist, it is easy to conceal and hide with the rest of our bundle of keys and such. This powerful alarm, when activated, will set off a loud alarm noise to alert anyone in your area that you need help. There are even some that when pulled can send your location to an emergency contact. It can be turned off by putting the pin back where it goes.

A Strike Tool

This can simply look like a long pointed metal tool, no wider than a straw. This tool is a few inches long so it is able to be used as a defense weapon as well as something to help you out of a sticky situation.

The tip of the metal is pointed, allowing it to break through car windows if you get locked in or in a serious situation. This point can also be used as a weapon.

Pepper Spray

This one has been around for ages and is probably more well known. Pepper spray is an amazing defense weapon, however, this tool needs to be learned and used properly. If it is used in an incorrect way, you may end up harming yourself as well as the person you intended it to be directed to.

No matter the tool you choose to pick, a woman’s safety and a woman’s health are what are most important in situations that may need protection like this.

Invisawear

This one is new and taking the defense world by storm. It can be worn as a bracelet or a necklace and the pendant has the ability to send your location to an emergency contact, or go directly to 911 dispatch. These pieces of jewelry connect to your phone via Bluetooth and the battery lasts up to two years.

This tool along with other defense mechanisms are amazing ways to keep yourself safe and protected while also not drawing attention to what you have on you.
